Search for sales navigator export and the first organic result is LinkedIn, saying it cannot be done. Directly above it and directly below it, PhantomBuster and navwise.ai are paying to say it can.
Both are accurate. LinkedIn does not ship an export. Extensions do the job anyway. What the page you are on right now does not tell you is what the second option costs, and LinkedIn documents that too, in a different article of the same help centre.
What LinkedIn's help centre says
The page is titled "Export account and lead information from Sales Navigator" and it opens with this:
"LinkedIn currently doesn't offer the option to export account and lead information from Sales Navigator into a CSV or XLS file. However, alternative solutions are available if you're using the Sales Navigator Advanced Plus plan."
Read on 6 September 2026. No tier is excluded from that first sentence. Core, Advanced and Advanced Plus all have no export.
The page then names exactly three alternatives, and all three require Advanced Plus: CRM Sync with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics and HubSpot; Embedded Profiles, which puts Sales Navigator information inside your CRM interface; and creating a lead record in your CRM from a Sales Navigator lead page.
One point of confusion worth clearing before you go looking. Sales Navigator does accept a CSV, for bulk account uploads. That is data going in. Nothing in the help centre describes data coming out as a file.
CRM Sync is a sync, and it is one tier up
The three alternatives are worth taking seriously only if you have the plan they need, and a lot of pages on this subject place CRM Sync one tier lower than LinkedIn does.
LinkedIn's page on account types is unambiguous:
"Sales Navigator Advanced - Team collaboration without CRM sync, including shared lists, Buyer Intent, and Smart Links."
"Sales Navigator Advanced Plus - Full CRM sync and embedded workflows across Sales Navigator and supported CRMs."
Advanced excludes it by name. Advanced Plus is the only tier that has it, and it is also the only tier LinkedIn does not price in public: on its own plan comparison page, Core and Advanced each carry a link to view pricing and Advanced Plus carries the words "Request demo for pricing." If you are on Core or Advanced, the alternatives section of that help page is not addressed to you.
There is also a difference between a sync and a file. CRM Sync writes lead and account records into Salesforce, Dynamics or HubSpot and keeps them current. If what you wanted was a spreadsheet to hand to a freelancer or load into a sequencing tool, a bidirectional CRM integration is a different object. We covered the wider tier question in Premium vs Sales Navigator, and what each tier does and does not raise in Sales Navigator limits, plan by plan.
What a saved list actually holds
If the export is out, the saved list is the thing you are actually working with, and LinkedIn does publish its size:
"You can save up to 1,000 leads in each list and 10,000 total leads."
That is one thousand per list, ten thousand across the account. Several pages ranking on this query report ten thousand as a per-list figure, which would be ten times the real ceiling on a single list. Take the number from LinkedIn's page.
The practical consequence is that a target market of more than ten thousand people cannot live inside Sales Navigator at all, whatever tool you point at it. That is a reason to narrow the list before you build it rather than after.
The extensions, and what they charge
So people install an extension. Here is what the six most commonly named ones cost, from each vendor's own pricing page, read 6 September 2026.
| Tool | Entry price | What the price buys |
|---|---|---|
| Linked Helper | $8.25 to $15 a month | Standard licence, local storage, one LinkedIn account per licence |
| Evaboot | $9 a month | 100 credits billed annually; one credit per exported lead, one per verified email, failed lookups free |
| Kondo | $28 per user a month | Basic plan, billed annually |
| Skrapp.io | Free, then $29 a month | Free gives 50 credits a month; Professional gives 2,000 credits and two users, billed annually |
| PhantomBuster | Free, then $56 a month | Free gives 30 minutes of execution a month; Start plan billed annually, includes unlimited CSV and JSON downloads |
| Wiza | Free, then $49 a month | Free gives 20 valid emails and 5 phones; see below on what Wiza no longer does |
The prices are the easy part of the decision. The rest of it is on a LinkedIn page most of these tools do not link to.
What LinkedIn says about browser extensions
Two documents, both LinkedIn's own.
The User Agreement, section 8.2, lists what you agree not to do. One item names the category directly:
"Develop, support or use software, devices, scripts, robots or any other means or processes (such as crawlers, browser plugins and add-ons or any other technology) to scrape or copy the Services, including profiles and other data from the Services"
"Browser plugins and add-ons" is not an inference from a general anti-scraping clause. It is the clause.
The second document is the Sales Navigator help page on usage, limitations and restrictions. It explains that features of your subscription may be temporarily restricted if LinkedIn detects unusual activity, then lists three things to do about it. The third is:
"Remove browser extensions that may be scraping profile data or causing a high number of profile views."
Its "Related tasks" link goes to a step-by-step guide for uninstalling extensions in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
The same page states what a restriction looks like when it happens:
"Temporary restrictions are generally lifted automatically after a 24-hour period. If your account is restricted for more than 24 hours or you believe that you have received this restriction in error, please contact us and we are happy to provide additional guidance."
So the position, stated by LinkedIn in its own help centre rather than inferred from anything: there is no export, the tool that performs one is prohibited by the User Agreement, and installing one is the third item on the list of things to undo when your account stops working.
Two vendors, two outcomes
The risk is not only to your account. It is also to the tool you standardised on.
Wiza's own help centre carries a warning banner on its Sales Navigator article, headed "LinkedIn export update," which reads: "Direct exports from LinkedIn Sales Navigator are no longer available." The page states you can no longer use the Wiza Chrome extension to export a Sales Navigator search, and points users at a different Wiza product instead. That is a paying customer's workflow ending on someone else's decision.
Proxycurl went further. On 4 July 2025 the company published a post titled "Goodbye Proxycurl" that opens: "In January earlier this year (2025), LinkedIn filed a lawsuit against Proxycurl. Today, we are shutting Proxycurl down." The post gives the reason plainly, noting that under the American Rule "even if we were to win the lawsuit, we would not be able to claim legal fees," against a company that "has more or less an unlimited war chest."
Neither of those is a prediction about your extension. Both are answers to the question of how stable this layer is, and both were announced on the vendor's own site rather than to customers individually. Before paying for any of these annually, open the vendor's help centre and look at the Sales Navigator article specifically. Wiza's deprecation is sitting at the top of its own page in plain sight.
What to do instead
Work the list where it lives. A saved list of a thousand named people inside Sales Navigator is usable for outreach without ever becoming a file, and the ten-thousand ceiling is above what one person can work in a year.
Sync it, if the plan allows. CRM Sync on Advanced Plus is the route LinkedIn offers and supports. It costs a tier nobody publishes a price for, and it delivers records into a CRM rather than a spreadsheet, so price it against what you would otherwise pay a tool plus what an account restriction would cost you.
Take the export LinkedIn does give you. Your own first-degree connections can be exported officially, by you, from the data-download page, which is a different mechanism with a different set of rules. We walk through it in how to export your LinkedIn connections.
Or start somewhere that ships a file. If the reason you wanted the export was to get names into a sequencing tool, the comparison you are actually making is between Sales Navigator and a data product that exports by design, which is the subject of Sales Navigator vs Apollo.
Sources in this article were read on 6 September 2026: LinkedIn's Sales Navigator help articles on exporting account and lead information, account types, saving leads, and usage limitations and restrictions, plus LinkedIn's own plan comparison page and its User Agreement. Every LinkedIn page named here is closed to automated fetching, so each was opened and read in a browser rather than through a cache or a third-party reproduction. Also read: each tool vendor's own pricing page; Wiza's own help centre; and the Proxycurl shutdown post of 4 July 2025. Where LinkedIn publishes no figure, this article says so instead of borrowing one.
Frequently asked
- Can you export leads from LinkedIn Sales Navigator to CSV?
- Not through Sales Navigator itself. LinkedIn's help centre states that it does not offer the option to export account and lead information from Sales Navigator into a CSV or XLS file, and that sentence carries no tier exception, so it applies to Core, Advanced and Advanced Plus alike. The alternatives LinkedIn names are CRM Sync, Embedded Profiles and creating a lead in your CRM from a lead page, all of which require the Advanced Plus plan.
- Which Sales Navigator plan includes CRM Sync?
- Advanced Plus only. LinkedIn's page on account types describes Advanced as team collaboration without CRM sync, and Advanced Plus as full CRM sync and embedded workflows across supported CRMs. LinkedIn publishes no price for Advanced Plus.
- How many leads can you save in Sales Navigator?
- One thousand per list, and ten thousand in total across the account, according to LinkedIn's own page on viewing and saving leads. A target market larger than ten thousand people cannot be held inside Sales Navigator regardless of which tools you use with it.
- Is it against LinkedIn's terms to use a Chrome extension to export Sales Navigator?
- LinkedIn's User Agreement says users will not develop, support or use software, devices, scripts, robots or other means or processes, and it names crawlers, browser plugins and add-ons specifically, to scrape or copy the services, including profiles and other data. Separately, LinkedIn's Sales Navigator help page on usage and restrictions advises removing browser extensions that may be scraping profile data or causing a high number of profile views.
- What happens if LinkedIn restricts your Sales Navigator account?
- LinkedIn states that certain features may be temporarily restricted when its system detects unusual activity, and that in rare cases "your ability to send InMail messages or connection request invitations, perform lead or account searches, or view member profiles may be impacted." It says temporary restrictions are generally lifted automatically after a 24-hour period, and that anyone restricted for longer, or restricted in error, should contact LinkedIn.
- Does CRM Sync give you a spreadsheet?
- No. CRM Sync writes lead and account information into Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics or HubSpot and keeps the two systems current with each other. It is a connection between two systems rather than a file you can open, edit or hand to someone else.
